Yes, I admit that I too am an avid fan of Alton Brown and his Good Eats. When I opened this flat package on Christmas morning I think my husband was worried I’d think this was cheesy but I hurried to the kitchen to pimp out my fire engine red Kitchen Aid. He was right, I was a little anxious, but the flames look sweet against the shiny red mixer and all my holiday guests got huge grins on their faces when they got a glimpse of my custom decal job.

Applying the decals was easier than I could have thought. And I was relived that if I do get tired of the flames I can just peel them off with the help of a little rubbing alcohol. Now I’m ready to dazzle if I can only find a way to get Alton in MY kitchen…

Makes my mixer fast., January 12, 2010

I really wanted to get my mixer airbrushed, but this was a little more practical. The flames look pretty good, but aren’t overly flexible which makes it a little difficult to put onto something that round. Round peg in square hole type of thing. But I was able to smooth it out pretty well and it looks great as long as you don’t look too close. : )

What fun! Now my mixer can be upgraded to look like Alton Brown’s! I’d tried the decals designed for cars and it just didn’t work. Thanks for these decals just for my KitchenAid mixer. I bought a set for me and for a friend who is also an Alton Brown fan.

All in one soup maker and more, September 2, 2011

This soup maker is excellent! You can stir your ingredients right in the glass jar w/o opening the lid. It heats fast and washes well. My soup was done in about an hour. It also keeps your soup hot until you turn the soup maker off. I would say this is the best small appliance I have purchased besides the Cuisinart Keurig single serve coffee maker!

I really like this mincer., January 31, 2010

I really like this mincer. I have it for less than a month, so I don’t know how it will perform on long run, but for now I am completely satisfied.
I bought it to make a flour.
I have allergy to gluten and yeast, so I have to bake my own breads and cakes.
First – gluten-free flours are very expensive, second – not all of them you can find in supermarket, and you have to look for it in specialty stores.
Like today I found a recipe for brioche, which calls for millet flour; I did not have this, but I had millet grains. I used this machine and now – I have a millet flour.
Plus pound of rice cost $0.99 and pound of rice flour runs from $2.99 to $3.99 per pound, if you use a lot of gluten free flour you will pretty quickly will pay off for this machine (I bought it on another site for $74.00 and shipping was free).
I like also that this machine is small enough. Most of flour mills are very bulky.
I can get pretty fine flour by using Miracle Mincer, but if you are perfectionist maybe it won’t be fine enough for you.
Another good quality – it is not extremal loud, even my spooky dogs are not running away when I am using it. I hope it will lust long enough.
I like that it is made in Italy (lately everything is made in China, and quality is suffering, not a price.)

The 64 ounce jar has been replaced by the 40-610-06 and has a three year warranty. It works great. I have had my Blendtec Blender in continual use since 2003 and wouldn’t change for anything else out there.

GREAT carafe, January 15, 2011

I decided to re write the entire review. I love this carafe. It is larger than the original, but still fits the base of the blendtek and the lids to the smaller carafe. The large wide shape does pull whatever you are blending down into the blades much more quickly. I never bother to chop greens, they are blended up with ease. Dry ingredients are also blended with more speed than the smaller carafe. If given the choice I would choose this size over the original size.
I did have one leak on me. I called customer service and it was replaced within 2 days. They included a return label for the leaking carafe. So it was taken care of quickly and efficiently. I now fully trust that any problems I would ever have will be resolved without issue.
I do recommend just ordering from Blendtek themselves as their prices are better and they ship quickly. Plus they have a record of your order in case you need assistance.
BPA free now too!

A must have!, February 7, 2011

We purchased this to take with us boating. We are not disappointed with the quality or the customer service. This makes a quick, perfect beverage. Better than any household blender I have ever owned. We ordered a replacement pitcher just in case we have any issues out of the country and need another. I must say they have the best customer service I have ever had.

Gets the job done, March 22, 2006

Mill effectively grinds food, fairly quickly, is basic and easy to set up and take apart.

However, materials are such that it cracks or breaks easily, as evidenced by the fact that the motor housing was broken when it arrived — alright if you don’t move much, but doesn’t fit our lifestyle. The mill is very noisy. The mill tends to be very messy to clean up once you are done with a grinding job — there is no easy way to contain the dust. We opted for the Nutrimill and are much happier even though it is more expensive — it is quieter, compact, better materials, and not nearly as messy (but a little more complex to set up at first).

Loud, but worth it! Great for Celiac Disease., March 12, 2007

In response to another review… Great workmanship in my eyes, Please don’t blame Blendtec for the careless handling by the shipper, I am sure that the shippers have elephants for staff sometimes….

This machine is loud… But, ear plugs are cheap.
I love my machine and use it constantly. My daughter has celiac disease and this wonderful machine makes grinding my own rice and bean flours possible. (Fava beans will not fit into any of the kitchen mills and they are VERY VERY hard. But you can easily grind any other legume. We have broken up Fava beans, but they seems so hard to us. Please ask manufacturer before grinding Fava beans. I did not and then worried about it.) We grind Pinto Beans, white beans, garbanzo, etc. Take a look at the book Country Beans…
I am in the market for a 2nd machine to grind wheat for the rest of us who do not have celiac disease. We used to grind wheat in the first machine, but we ground a large quanitity of popcorn in it and then used it for the non-GF part of the family before using it for GF foods. (Cross contamination is a big problem for people with celiac disease.) I do not reccomend using the same mill for a celaic’s food and wheat also.
From talking to others who have bought other mills this one is the best choice for the money. The other mills are quieter, but they can clog and the extra money may not be worth a bit less noise.
